Overview

Every piece we make at Coleela is crafted with care—stitched, pressed, and bound by hand. But if something isn’t quite right, we’re here to help.

You can return items within 7 days of receiving your order. After that, we close the window (and the sewing kit) for refunds and exchanges.

To be eligible for a return:

  • Your item must be unused, unwashed, and in the same condition you received it.
  • It should be returned in its original packaging, or something equally safe and snug.

Non-returnable items

Because of the custom and handmade nature of what we do, a few items can’t be returned:

  • Made-to-order or personalized pieces
  • Custom textile art or commissioned works
  • Gift cards
  • Digital downloads

Sale items are also final—once they’re gone, they’re gone.

We’ll also need your order confirmation or proof of purchase to complete any return request.

And please—don’t return your item to the artist or artisan unless we’ve asked you to. All returns go through the main Coleela studio.

Partial refunds

Partial refunds may be issued in cases such as:

  • Items showing signs of wear or handling
  • Items returned not in original condition, or with missing parts
  • Items returned more than 30 days after delivery (but you’re still welcome to reach out—we’ll take it case by case)

Refunds

Once your return is received and reviewed, we’ll email you to confirm. If approved, your refund will be processed and credited back to your original method of payment within 5–10 business days.

We know the waiting game can be frustrating. Try this:

  1. Double-check your account or credit card.
  2. Contact your bank—it may take a few days to show.
  3. Still not there? Email us at [your email address] and we’ll follow up.

Exchanges

Due to the handmade and often one-of-a-kind nature of our products, we only offer exchanges for items that arrive damaged or defective. Please email us with photos at coleelabindery@gmail.com, and we’ll do our best to mend the situation.


Gifts

Was it a gift? If marked as one and sent directly to you, we’ll issue a store credit once we receive the return. If the item went to the gift giver first, the refund will be sent to them.


Shipping returns

To initiate a return, please email us at coleelabindery@gmail.com.
Once your return request is approved, we will provide you with the shipping address.

Please note:

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item was defective or incorrect.
  • Shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • For peace of mind, we recommend using a trackable service or shipping insurance—we want your return to make it home safely too.
