Finding Clarity Through the SILBI Journey
I started my incubation journey with the Social Innovation Laboratory and Business Inclusion (SILBI) in 2024, and it has been one of the most meaningful experiences in my path as a creative entrepreneur. What began as a small step toward understanding my business more deeply has turned into a long and fruitful journey of growth, reflection, and learning.

Before joining SILBI, my business name, goals, target audience, and even my plans were quite different from what they are today. Through my many interactions, discussions, and one-on-one sessions with the SILBI team, these gradually evolved—shifting into something more refined, grounded, and true to my purpose. It was truly a game changer, shaping how I now view and grow my business.

From the very beginning, everyone at UP SILBI has been incredibly accommodating. The warmth and openness of the team made me feel supported at every stage of the process. They constantly reach out to include us in activities and events that help us grow our businesses, connect with others, and explore new opportunities.
One memorable experience was a workshop where we taught senior citizens how to create specific crafts based on what we, the three crafter-incubatees, specialize in. It was a beautiful exchange—one that reminded me that teaching can also be an act of learning. Seeing their enthusiasm and curiosity was deeply inspiring and humbling.
Throughout this incubation, I’ve accomplished so much, even in areas I used to find daunting—like organizing my business portfolio, completing my business registration, identifying my goals, and developing a clearer business model. These might sound like small steps, but they’ve helped me move forward with more clarity and direction. I now see things more rationally, understanding not just the creative side of what I do, but also the structure that supports it.

What makes SILBI truly remarkable is how they continue to offer their unwavering support despite the challenges of limited personnel and resources. A special shout-out to Ms. Avereen D. Tibalao, who has steadfastly continued to guide and support us incubatees through it all — and to the rest of the SILBI team who have been part of this journey and its impact.

To the entire SILBI team, thank you for walking alongside me in this journey. You’ve not only guided me in growing my business but have also helped me grow as a person—grounded, purposeful, and hopeful about what lies ahead. My business incubation may be coming to an end, but my journey with my business is only beginning — as I continue to nurture and grow it with the ever-present reminder na “Magsilbi sa bayan”.
